A Charitable Challenge

Jeremiah Bishop's Alpine Loop Gran Fondo provides the opportunity and inspiration for individuals and teams to take on great challenges in support of worthy causes.

Beyond operating expenses, all proceeds from the event will directly support the Misson to benefit the local community and charity organizations.

Sprito di Squadra Fundraising Teams

Community, camaraderie and encouragement are at the heart of the Alpine Loop Gran Fondo. Spirito di Squadra fundraising teams will showcase these values.

Two and 5-rider teams will compete to raise funds for charitable causes while encouraging members to prepare for and complete the challenge of the Alpine Loop. With registration, team members also receive VIP tickets to attend the Bike Capital Gala event on Friday, September 23, 2011 in Downtown Harrisonburg. At the evening event, charitable funds will be tallied and each Spirito di Squadra fundraising team will be recognized.

On Saturday, September 24, 2011, all Spirito di Squadra teams and fundraising individuals will receive call-ups to the start line alongside - and even in front of - other luminaries, honored guests and professional cyclist participants!

The idea is simple: register your team, select a cause - or two - (see Mission page), start fundraising and keep training for the Alpine Loop! Funds will be tallied at the Bike Capital Gala.

When fundraising, checks can be made out to: Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition for Community Patron donations, and Prostate Cancer Awareness Project for PCAP Supporters. "Alpine Loop" can be written in the memo. Both organizations are 501(c)(3) organizations.

At this Gran Fondo, fundraising is the sure-fire way to receive a front row call-up to the start line!

Prostate Cancer Awareness Project Supporters

Similar to the Spirito di Squadra teams, Prostate Cancer Awareness Project Supporters are individual riders (or rider sponsors) who raise funds in support of the PCAP. Supporters are encouraged to use the challenge of the Alpine Loop to inspire support for their participation in the Gran Fondo to raise funds to benefit the PCAP.

With registration, Supporters receive a VIP ticket to the Bike Capital Gala, special call-up to the start line of the Gran Fondo and other specials. Supporters who raise additional funds for the Prostate Cancer Awareness Project will receive recognition at the Bike Capital Gala and can join in the friendly competition for a front row call-up at the Alpine Loop.

When fundraising, checks can be made out to: Prostate Cancer Awareness Project. "Alpine Loop" can be written in the memo. The orgnization has 501(c)(3) status.

Alpine Loop Gran Fondo Community Patrons

A significant goal of Jeremiah Bishop's Alpine Loop Gran Fondo is to provide funding for the construction of shared use trails and alternative transportation routes from Harrisonburg schools to surrounding neighborhoods, urban centers and outdoor recreation opportunities.

Similar to the Spirito di Squadra teams, Alpine Loop Community Patrons are individual riders (or rider sponsors) who raise funds in support of these goals. With registration, Alpine Loop Community Patrons receive a VIP ticket to the Bike Capital Gala, special call-up to the start line of the Gran Fondo and other specials. Supporters who raise additional funds for the Alpine Loop Charitable Mission will receive recognition at the Bike Capital Gala and can join in the friendly competition for a front row call-up at the Alpine Loop.

When fundraising, checks can be made out to: Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition. "Alpine Loop" can be written in the memo. The organization has 501(c)(3) status.
